Hakone

On Tuesday, we headed to Hakone to see the Hakone Open Air Museum and bathe at Yunessun (a hot springs amusement park). We were also hoping to get a good look at Mount Fuji, since it was a clear day. On the train, we got lucky and got a great view of Fujisan.

We then transfered to the Tozan Railway, a rickety line with two switchbacks that slowly climbed the mountain to the Hakone Open Air Museum, an outdoor sculpture garden. Here's a good view of a few of the sculptures from the entrance.

The family, excited to look at art.

Adam climbs a kid-friendly sculpture.

Adam admires the giant French sculptures.

Adam enjoys the kids' playground.

Adam then demanded to "ride the horsey!" Two seconds later, he asked, "Get off the horsey, please. Horse scare me."

Another kid-friendly sculpture. You could climb into the netting through the big holes to the top of the ceiling.

More art. Adam kept yelling, "ART!" everytime he saw something new.

After the open air museum, we walked to Yunessun for a good soak in the hot springs. Here are Sebastian and Amy in the coffee bath.

Everyone in their Yunessun robes. Adam in full nose-pick mode.
