Disney Thursday Afternoon - Epcot

We made reservations at the Biergarten, the restaurants at the German pavilion. As soon as I saw they had kasespatzle, I was sold. And it was actually fairly authentic. Real German waiters, Spetzi (orange and coke mix), German beer, and a band! They even had a parade with the kids and gave them chocolate gold coins (traditional in Germany).

Some of our yummy food. Lottie especially liked the pretzel bread.

We really wanted to see the "candy artist" at the Japan pavilion. We got there a few minutes early, and Adam was one of the lucky five to get a rice candy sculpture. He requested a purple elephant. It really was amazing to watch.

She was excited that Adam had lived in Japan.

Epcot had little performances at all the pavilions telling about the Christmas traditions in that country. Since Japan doesn't really celebrate Christmas, they told about the daruma dolls (which are popular around New Year - which is the big Japanese holiday season).

After our Japanese adventure, we checked out the hats at the gift shop at our resort. We also had dinner with my cousin Mark, who lives in Orlando. The kids had a great time sharing a giant hot fudge sundae with him. As (bachelor) Mark says, the messier the better.
