Smashmouth Videos
Here are some videos from the Smashmouth concert. A little 90's, we know, but they put on a great show, and we appreciate celebrities that come over to put on a show and bring us a little piece of America (for free!).

Halloween
Halloween isn't really celebrated in Japan. They are just starting to get into decorating (especially flower and craft shops have Halloween decorations), but they definitely do NOT do trick or treating. Because we are on a military post, we go all out!

We started with a party at the commissary (grocery store on post). Many people here give English lessons to Japanese, and the tradition is to invite your Japanese students for Halloween. So there were a lot of people. They had a costume contest - the winner will get tickets to Tokyo Disney! The commissary gave out big bags of candy and had free hot dogs, chips, and sodas for all. Once it was totally dark (around 6 PM), everyone ran to trick or treat. Adam was VERY scared of all the masks. The commissary was especially bad - he and Spaceman Calum were not happy. Bella (Dorothy) was okay though!

Once we got away from the masks, four of the Joy School students posed for pictures (Jesse, Adam, Calum, and Catey). Catey is holding her big bag of free commissary candy.

Lottie is a flower!

The first house on our trick or treating route. Adam was fairly good, and only got scared at a few houses. One house had a dad dressed in a scary mask, and Adam did NOT want to go there. I held him, and he still didn't want to do it, but when the dad held out the candy to him, he grabbed it, then sobbed, "THANK YOU!" as he cried into my shoulder. He might be scared, but he IS polite. And loves candy.

Growth
Lottie had her 6 month appointment today, which means growth check and SHOTS! She's 17 1/2 pounds, 26 1/2 inches, about 75th percentile for each. She's a big girl!
