Lounging

We're all fighting off colds, so Saturday morning was spent lounging in our pajamas and playing with Daddy.

Monkey See

Rolling around - notice that leg is in the air!

New pigtail buns.

Lottie was facinated with Adam eating a banana.

So she decided that she should try to eat her wrapper, just like her big brother.

Nani kept a close eye on the proceedings, hoping for a banana snack.

Pigtails

I got some baby elastics, so I had to try Lottie's hair in real pigtails. She cried when I put them in, but then forgot about them.

Adam liked her pigtails too.

I love football!

Fun

More fun time with blankets.

More mauling of the sister.

More tears because we don't like too many Adam kisses.

Smashmouth Videos

Here are some videos from the Smashmouth concert. A little 90's, we know, but they put on a great show, and we appreciate celebrities that come over to put on a show and bring us a little piece of America (for free!).

Smashmouth Concert

Smashmouth (the band) was playing all over Japan during Halloween. We knew we couldn't make the Halloween night concert at Camp Zama, so we took the kids to the Saturday afternoon concert at Atsugi. There were also bounce houses and food booths, as well as warm-up bands, so Adam was super happy (but super tired). Here we are, enjoying our picnic before the concert and enjoying the James Brown cover band.

Chris (in hat on left) with Adam enjoying Smashmouth.

My rocker boys. I think Adam inherited his father's tongue.

Adam also enjoyed the helicopter, but was upset that he couldn't get into it.

Halloween

Halloween isn't really celebrated in Japan. They are just starting to get into decorating (especially flower and craft shops have Halloween decorations), but they definitely do NOT do trick or treating. Because we are on a military post, we go all out!

We started with a party at the commissary (grocery store on post). Many people here give English lessons to Japanese, and the tradition is to invite your Japanese students for Halloween. So there were a lot of people. They had a costume contest - the winner will get tickets to Tokyo Disney! The commissary gave out big bags of candy and had free hot dogs, chips, and sodas for all. Once it was totally dark (around 6 PM), everyone ran to trick or treat. Adam was VERY scared of all the masks. The commissary was especially bad - he and Spaceman Calum were not happy. Bella (Dorothy) was okay though!

Once we got away from the masks, four of the Joy School students posed for pictures (Jesse, Adam, Calum, and Catey). Catey is holding her big bag of free commissary candy.

Lottie is a flower!

The first house on our trick or treating route. Adam was fairly good, and only got scared at a few houses. One house had a dad dressed in a scary mask, and Adam did NOT want to go there. I held him, and he still didn't want to do it, but when the dad held out the candy to him, he grabbed it, then sobbed, "THANK YOU!" as he cried into my shoulder. He might be scared, but he IS polite. And loves candy.

After the trick or treating, we met at the Carlson's for an afterparty. We posed the little girls -Butterfly Tate, Flower Lottie, and Ladybug Kerri.

We had a loaded table full of goodies. I made witches fingers (cookies), spider olives, bat brownies, and pumpkin pasties. Yum.

Adam, Noah, and Calum had a great time with the balloons.

Lottie and Chris, the life of the party. Yes, they are asleep in the middle of the party!

Tired at the end of the night!

Pumpkin Carving

Adam and Lottie helped (watched) Mommy and Daddy carve our pumpkins for Halloween night.

Posing with the almost done pumpkins.

Growth

Lottie had her 6 month appointment today, which means growth check and SHOTS! She's 17 1/2 pounds, 26 1/2 inches, about 75th percentile for each. She's a big girl!

Train Tracks

Adam got some new train tracks from Grandma and Grandpa. He didn't even want to stop to eat dinner. Lottie got in on the track action too.
