First Real Haircut

Adam got his first haircut this week (well, his first haircut not by Mom). He wasn't too sure about it all, and only sat in the chair if he could sit on Dad's lap. He kept telling the nice lady, "No, no, no," but she did a great job with only scissors. Adam sat fairly still, and she gave him a lollipop as a treat afterwards. He even got to watch TV during the haircut, which helped a lot! He looks like such a big boy now.

Boys' Day

The Japanese celebrate both a Girls' Day and a Boys' Day. Boys' Day is May 5. The Japanese hang carp (known for their strength in swimming up stream) in celebration of boys. Adam received a carp streamer too!

Carriage

Adam had a great time playing with the Japanese kids on the carriage (at the zoo at Sagamihara Park).

Very Scary

Adam is going through a phase where most things are now "very scary." Of course, the pigs are very scary...

The petting zoo is horrible. Goats and sheep are also scary. He kept listing the animals that weren't scary, in hopes we might just go back to see those animals. The only animals to make the list were monkeys and peacocks.

Fun at the Park

We headed to Sagamihara Park on a cloudy Monday. There were a lot of people there, celebrating Boys' Day. Because of threatening rain clouds, we only checked out the zoo and the observation tower.

Sunny Ebina Afternoon

A sunny Sunday afternoon in Ebina calls for some ice cream. The strawberry was great, even if you have to share with Mom.

He might not look just like dad, be he can balance a spoon on his nose in the great Callicott family tradition.
