Walking Around Waikiki, Part Two

Outside the Hale Koa, we found a banyan tree with low branches - perfect for climbing.

The banyan tree's roots grow from the branches to the ground.

We walked by Fort DeRussy and saw our first rainbow of the trip. It was actually a double, but the second one is hard to see on the photo.

Adam liked the outdoor Korean War display.

Since the museum was closed, we just checked out the tanks and guns on display outside.

Then we found a hula show.

Adam and Lottie made a new Japanese friend. Just like old times! By the end of the performance, she was trying to hold Adam's hand.

Walking Around Waikiki, Part One

We took a walk to McDonald's to stretch our legs and get a bite (Adam's choice!). Some tired and hungry kids didn't want to pose for pictures.

Lottie didn't even make it to lunch. She almost never falls asleep in a stroller, so this was a shocker.

Adam celebrated with a green (his favorite color) milkshake for St. Patrick's Day. Cherries are fun to play with, not as much fun to eat.

Showing off his cool new shades from the Aloha store.

The infamous Hilton Hawaiian Village, which is right next door to the Hale Koa.

The entrance to the Hale Koa.

The marina around the corner.

The fountain outside the lobby.

Before going on a second walk, we spotted a band playing in the courtyard. We had to check it out.

And dance!

Hawaii, Finally

We arrived in Hawaii on March 10. We started our trip traveling with Chris's parents and staying at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki. After a long trip, we were eager to check in and relax.

Adam also did a little drawing. He's actually drawing things that you can recognize now. I don't think it ever occurred to him that you needed to do that (or color inside the lines).

Adam and Lottie enjoy some TV with Rosie.

New Song

Adam was singing this afternoon. Here's a sample of his sure-fire hit:

That's not fair. That's not true. Oh yeah.

Battle on the bed. Battle on on on the bed.

Come battle with me on the bed.

Jump on the bed one time.
Jumpin' on the battle bed.
Jumpin' on the battle bed.

Not fair.

Every Army guy gets a pillow. Oh yeah.

Pockets on the head.

Battle on the bed.

I Want a Dog

Adam: "Can we put Nani in the water? Will it shrink her? I want her to be Chihuahua-sized."

Last Day of School

Thursday (June 2) was Adam's last day of school. One last hug for his awesome teacher, Ms. Lagunero.

Pictures with his girlfriend, Alyssa.

His harem - Destiny, Alyssa, and Jasmine.

Adam and his best friend, Dougie.

In front of the school.

What better way to celebrate than a court-wide pool party? Of course, they didn't spend much time in the kiddie pool, but they did have a good time.

Kids

Lottie says, "I like you. Let's hold hands!"

Adam says, "We're not playing princesses. And your name is Christy (NOT Mulan) for this game."

Soccer Pictures

Adam and Lottie got to play on the same soccer team this season. Fort Hood finally added a 3-4 year old league. Since Adam doesn't turn 5 till May, they were both Tigers. Apparently, most teams wanted to be some sort of feline. Almost every team was either the Tigers, Cougars, or Leopards. Today was their final game - they only had three.

They both did great. Adam is figuring out dribbling and scoring; although I think he's watched too many adult games - if he gets frustrated, he pushes! Lottie is tough. She is a good dribbler, but she goes whichever direction she is facing at the time.

Here's the team, minus Kalani. Cassie, Adam, Emma, Leah, Lottie, Eli, and Jasmina. Sweet kids, great parents - lots of fun!

New Things

Adam told me about something new today. Zyrtec. It's when you die from standing too close to a window during a tornado.

Lottie discovered a magical new land today as well. It's called Hollabisco, and is located in our half bathroom. Apparently it's huge.

Grown Up World

Adam told me tonight that he wants to be a grown up already.

"Because then I can talk to my dad like a grown up. Right now I sound like a funny little boy. And I will help my friend Dougie."

And we discussed his uncle Doug's upcoming wedding and what a ring bearer does.

"And after you bring up the rings, what do you do? Tackle them?"

It would make the wedding more interesting!
