Fun Thanksgiving guys! Adam helped cook the turkey, then got impatient when the food was slow getting to his plate. Dad fed Adam LOTS of peas in cream sauce. Adam did a good job cleaning his monkey plate.
We took Grandpa out to Kamakura. We hit Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine during Shichigosan, which is the traditional custom of taking boys aged 3 and 5 and girls aged 3 and 7 to be blessed at the local Shinto shrine to thank for their good health and pray for future blessings. Everyone looked so cute. Then we took Adam to the aquarium, where he enjoyed the fish and dolphins.
This one's just for you, Uncle Andy. We got a taste of Hawaii a little early. We all love Kua Aina (a great burger place) in Haleiwa, but there are also a few of them in Japan. We hit one for lunch in Kamakura before heading to the aquarium in Enoshima. It was delicious!
We took a trip to tiny Imbe to see and buy Bizen yaki (beautiful Japanese pottery). Here we are at the train station with all our goodies.
Bob and Rosie with the Suzukis (managers at their old apartment building in Kobe).
All of us with the Japanese ladies English-speaking group. Rosie taught/facilitated for them when she was living in Kobe. They just loved meeting Adam!
We later went to Arima, famous for its hot springs. We didn't bathe, but just enjoyed all the fall foliage.
Bob, Chris, Adam, & Rosie on the mountain way above Kobe.
Adam really enjoyed his nap next to the free hot foot bath in Arima. Relaxing!
