Garden

My parents came to visit at the beginning of April. It was nice to have them here for Easter and my birthday. One of my presents was a raised garden bed. Adam was a good helper to Grandpa and Daddy.

Lottie and Grandma supervised.

Working.

The finished product.

Erie Court Easter Egg Hunt

On April 3, we got the entire cul de sac together for a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. First we forced the kids to take a picture.

Then it was off to hunt eggs! Lottie was the egg hunt champion. Everyone hid so many eggs (in front and back yards) that the kids went crazy and ran around like nuts. She was focused and stayed in one area - for a change.

Adam found some eggs in the back yard area. It's huge because we're on a loop and bordering the golf course (in the background).

We even had our own personal face painter (Abby). The weather was perfect. The company was great. I couldn't ask for better neighbors. We are supremely lucky to live on Erie Court!

First Birthday Cake

Just had to post these cute pictures from our friend Ian's first birthday party. He had his own personal cake (plus another to share).

And the aftermath! It took two baths to get all that frosting out.

MOPS Easter Egg Hunt

On March 29, we had an Easter egg hunt for our MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers) group. The park in Harker Heights had lots of open space, and most importantly, a playground. Everyone is ready to find eggs.

Adam is in the front of the pack.

Adam grabbing eggs. He did probably find the most eggs, but voluntarily (!!!) gave a bunch up to a younger girl. He was just happy that he was the fastest. I guess it's all about the thrill of the hunt.

Lottie also enjoyed hunting eggs with her friend Mary. They also enjoyed a picnic lunch with their friends and lots of playground time.

LBJ Park

We decided to check out LBJ Park in Fredericksburg before we headed back to Fort Hood. It has a nice (short but nice) hiking path that runs by a stream and a dam.

We also found a nice patch of bluebonnets right off the path. Adam cooperated.

Lottie did NOT.

Lottie's one nice picture.

Even Nani got a picture.

Then we continued our hike. Adam was super excited. He's now on to pushing for a camping trip!

Hot Tub Fun

We really enjoyed the hot tub that was right next to the cabin. Lottie enjoyed singing with Aunty Karen.

Logan and Kayleigh cuddled with Uncle Shane.

Adam hung out with Daddy.

Easter Egg Hunt

Gram and Bapa organized an Easter egg hunt while we were in Fredericksburg. First the kids got to decorate their buckets.

Then it was out the door to hunt the eggs!

There were more eggs hiding in the fence.

Adam helped Kayleigh open her eggs.

The kids had a great time hunting, opening, and eating their eggs. Thanks, Gram and Bapa!

Country Cabins

We really enjoyed staying at these cabins just outside Fredericksburg. Fredericksburg is so small that it was only about a five minute drive from the main street to the cabins. Lots of land, with lots of wildlife. The kids enjoyed the herd of mule deer. Lottie had no fear.

There was also a beautiful field of yellow wildflowers right next to the cabins. Photo shoot!

We were even able to bring the dogs! Adam enjoyed taking Nani for walks.

A picture of the entire Callicott clan, except Doug and Ashley, who couldn't make this trip.

How to Say Hello in Kansas

Adam's informative nugget of the day:

In Hawaii, we say, "Aloha."

In Japan, we say, "Konichiwa."

In Kansas, we say, "Chanyo." That means "hello."

Fredericksburg

On Sunday (March 28) we headed to Fredericksburg with Gram and Bapa. We met up with the Flachmans once we got to Fredericksburg. On Monday, we had a delicious breakfast at the German bakery, then went to Wildseed Farms to see if the bluebonnets were out. Lottie was all ready to pose for pictures with Bapa.

Lottie, Adam, and Logan posed with some blue bonnets.

Adam and Lottie wanted to pose with Daddy by the beautiful flowering tree.

The wildflower fields were not quite ready. The poppies were starting to bloom, but the bluebonnet field was not even close. But who cares when you have paths and a Daddy to chase you?

We also walked around Fredericksburg's Main Street. And, as always, Adam and Logan had to pose with the candy cutout. I like Lottie peeking around the side. We also had to buy some fudge at that candy shop. Yum!
