More Cherry Blossoms

We took more pictures of the cherry blossoms after Mass on Sunday. It was cloudy and a little cold, but the forecasted rain could wash most of the blossoms off the trees this week. Plus, we don't know when Baby Lottie will make her appearance!

This was the only decent picture Chris could get of Adam with Mommy.

This was what Adam did the rest of his photo shoot with Mommy.

Captain Crazy Eyes.

Sticks are exciting! Later Sunday afternoon, we took Adam to see the first movie that wasn't half during his nap time (he saw two half-movies last summer). He enjoyed "Horton Hears a Who." I'm not sure that the rest of the audience enjoyed his running commentary. "Elephant, elephant, elephant funny, bird, tweet, tweet."

Cherry Blossoms

The cherry blossoms are just starting to bloom. Here's a shot of one of the cherry trees down the road from us. Hopefully, we should be able to enjoy the blooms for another couple of weeks!

Spring at the park

The weather is starting to get nice again. Time to hit Sagamihara Park. We enjoyed all the beautiful flowers and the tulip and cherry trees that are starting to blossom. The boys enjoyed the playground and the zoo.

Jesse made a new friend. They are playing with the "sand" toys. Apparently, they don't do sandboxes in Japan, so the boys made do with dirt.

We decided to see if Adam was STILL scared of the big animals at the zoo. The answer, a resounding yes, but only for the incredibly scary pigs (and only when they oink)!
To see the last time Adam saw those scary pigs, see here: http://ccallicott.blogspot.com/2007/10/zoo.html

More Easter fun

Adam and Daddy headed out to the park while Mommy recovered from making Easter brunch for the family and some guests (Chris's boss). Adam had a great Daddy-only time at the playground, and got filthy!

Look at that hand!

Easter

Adam finds his first Easter egg of the morning.

Adam inspects his Easter basket. He got candy, some apple chips, a soccer ball, and Robin Hood on DVD.

Adam finds his last Easter egg.

Easter Eggs

Adam went to dye eggs with his baby friends on Saturday. This was as close to the eggs as he ever got.

Playing on the baby slide next door was much more fun than dyeing eggs.

Later, we went to a post-wide Easter egg hunt. Daddy helped Adam collect eggs.

Here's a picture of Jesse with the Easter bunny, because Adam would never get that close to him. He started crying and shaking every time the bunny got anywhere near him. Although, after the egg hunt, all he would talk about was the Easter bunny and all the goodies the bunny gave him.

Crazy Dancing

Adam went a little crazy watching TV the other day. Darn that coffee table!

Hallway

Adam and Nani just love running after thrown balls down the hallway. Hours of entertainment!

Babaoli

Adam, why the face full of crumbs?

Appropriate Seating

This morning, Adam decided that it was more fun to sit in one of his toy baskets instead of the baby couch directly beside the toy baskets. Busted!

Adam and the Robots

Adam got to talk to some robots through a microphone that is supposed to translate your words into robot speak. When Adam talks, the robots, mostly just smile and nod. I guess that means that robots are ready to be parents!

Ecology and the Toilet

The picture pretty much says it all....

Museum of Emerging Science and Technology

We went to the museum of emerging science and technology. Adam got to learn about ecology, genetics, robots, superconductivity, and the internet. Here he's messing with the DNA, and then posing in front of a physical model of the internet that sends messages via black and white balls.

Park Break 2!

We found another park while walking around. This one had lots of kids and stuff to play on, as well as a sign making it clear that sandboxes are not toilets for pets.

Park Break

Near the New Sanno is a nice park with a pond and some ducks. All very exciting for little ones. The plum trees are starting to bloom, as are the cherry and red bud trees. All make for some good posing opportunities.

Harajuku

After the Meiji Shrine we headed across the street to Harajuku, where a lot of odd ducks hang out. Adam got a free hug, and then we just dove into the mass of people. We found a Wolfgang Puck Restaurant, and ate there, which was really tasty.

Meiji Shrine Dance!

Meiji Shrine

Last weekend we went to Tokyo. Our first stop was the Meiji Shrine. It was great fun. There were lots of rocks, some big lanterns, and even a traditional Japanese wedding.

Strawberry!

Adam loves the freeze-dried strawberries in my cereal. Here he is, demanding yet another, "Strawberry!"

Blanket

Adam loves to play with his blankets. What a character!

Helping Hurting Nani

Adam has even been delivering dog food to Nani. Such a helper!

Poor Nani

Nani got attacked by a German Shepherd on Friday. We got to experience our first trip to a Japanese vet, since, as always, emergencies happen after business hours. They were very helpful and saw us right away. We have been going to the vet every day for antibiotic shots for Nani. She's feeling much better today (Sunday). She's just sore and hurting. Adam has been great with her. He's given up his baby couch for Nani so she can lounge without jumping. He knows that, "Nani hurting." He hasn't even attempted to poke her in any of her wounds. Such a good brother!
